And there are some types of carbohydrates that can actually help you deactivate toxic lectins when they bind together. For instance, because of their precise carbohydrate specificities lectins can actually be blocked by oligosaccharides (a type of carbohydrate whose molecules are composed of a relatively small number of monosaccharide units). This may seem like a contradiction because in other cases when carbs interact with lectins they may cause or increase health issues.17

    I bought Lectin Shield as preparation for a 7-day vacation. Although I would have a full kitchen and had prepared and frozen a few meals, I knew there would be times we would not have control over any meals at “outside events”.     I have been on the Plant Paradox diet a full 3 months now and have lost 25 lbs. I adhere strictly to the “just say no” and “yes please” lists. Eating out though has been the most challenging however. You can’t always know for sure exactly what went into your food preparatiin, even when you ask your waitstaff.     I work for a race team which means long hours and no time to find healthy food or work out on the road with a crew of junk food and energy drink swilling guys. Durning race season I would gain 10-15 lbs every year and struggle to loose it in the off season.
